Is PCRMC a "for-profit" hospital?
No. PCRMC is a county-owned, non-tax supported and "not-for-profit" hospital with a five-member elected board.
Can PCRMC help me with pursuing a health career?
- PCRMC is home to the Mid-Missouri Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) region headquarters. AHEC starts by reaching out to junior high and high school students by hosting career days, workshops and volunteer programs.
- PCRMC also reached out to undergraduate students who plan to continue on to medical school by a “Patient Ambassadors Program” that allows pre-med students at Missouri S&T to volunteer at PCRMC.
- Mid-Missouri AHEC also supports medical students and health professional schools by helping with internship, mentorship and rotation placements, among other services.
Does PCRMC provide any free or low-cost services?
Yes. PCRMC provides many free and low-cost services and collaborates with local entities to improve access to health care, health education and health services.
What do I do if I can not drive to my physician’s appointment?
PCRMC has a patient transportation program that will travel to any patient located within a 30-mile radius of the hospital campus. The program is meant to ease the way for patients who otherwise would not have the means or resources to get to their appointment.
